Sheikh Qaradawi’s Letter to Malaysia

Sahib al Samaha Sheikh Yusuf al Qaradawi’s Letter to Malaysia:

All praise is due to Allah, salutations and salam be upon Rasulullah saw, his family and his companions and to those who follow Allah’s guidance

Malaysia has a special place in our hearts, and we cherish dearly our love with all sincerity. Our wish is to see Malaysia manifest as the Islamic model of moderation - wasatiyyah, civil, developed and contemporary. These will not succeed without the striving efforts of earnest sons and daughters of Malaysia, working hard and cooperating shoulder to shoulder, people who eagerly aspire to assure a prosperous future for the nation.  People who help and assist one another to stand up tall for Malaysia as a whole.

Allah indeed loves those who fight in His Way in ranks as though they were a solid wall (As Saff: 4)

It is unacceptable that the courts be turned into a stage to promote hatred and political enmity or be the means to ensnare political opponents through grip holds of cases. Most of these only serve to slander and character assassinate rather than to establish the truth.

Indeed we believe the success of Malaysia, its rise and strength lie in the upholding highly the values of freedom and democracy, and reinforcing the principles of the diversity of thought, noble rivalry and healthy debate, in the service of such a glorious nation

Anwar Ibrahim is one of our eminent leaders with a history, involvement and experience, in his struggle, with his patience and tenacity ever since his younger days until today. Anwar should be treated commiserate with his contribution to the cause, resilience and his tireless efforts, not to persecute him by unsubstantiated allegations.  

A previous court had acquitted him. However there are clearly those who still contrive and conspire, without any regard for the wellbeing of the country and the future of the nation.

We have faith in the words of Allah concerning an event called Hadithat al Ifk:-

Why did not the believers - men and women when you heard of the affair,- put the best construction on it in their own minds and say, "This (charge) is an obvious lie" ?

Why did they not bring four witnesses to prove it? When they have not brought the witnesses, such men, in the sight of Allah, (stand forth) themselves as liars!  (Surah An Nur 12-13)

I appeal to my brothers and sisters the citizens of Malaysia to come together and help one another. I hope that brothers and sisters in Malaysia avoid conflicts which have no useful purpose in the end, instead they are detrimental, of no benefit, devastating, not constructive, damaging and do not bring about any meaningful goodness.
